Go further still. To Alaska where indigenous voices resound.

You are uniquely qualified to write a book that will mix memories with ethnography and academic theory. I, for one, can't wait.

This post indeed piques my interest in your interpretation of what the academic literature has to say about your lived experience. As much as you "really want to do this", you are showing you clearly know how to do it! Warm ups welcomed, but you're well on your way to a new way of writing.

This quote was shared in my writing group this morning. It seems appropriate.

“The fundamental experience of the writer is helplessness. This does not mean to distinguish writing from being alive: it means to correct the fantasy that creative work is an ongoing record of the triumph of volition, that the writer is someone who has the good luck to be able to do what he or she wishes to do: to confidently and regularly imprint his being on a sheet of paper. But writing is not decanting of personality. And most writers spend much of their time in various kinds of torment: wanting to write, being unable to write; wanting to write differently, being unable to write differently. . . . [The writer’s life] is dignified, I think by yearning, not made serene by sensations of achievement.”

just to be clear -- what I meant in my first comment is that YOUR WRITING HERE is great, and comes across, and is evocative of a whole 'environmental movement', a live environment that includes you. (well I guess that isn't terribly clear either! 🥴 ) i.e. my comment referred to you, not to the linked recordings aimed at 'enhancing your image' (among non-Americans ha) via pronunciation of 'en route' ) 🤔
